Rio Ferdinand hated Manchester United

Young Rio vowed never to play for Red Devils

Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he used to hate the club in his younger days. The England defender told the Mirror that he went as far as to say he would never play for the club before his £29.1 million move from Leeds United in 2002.

He said: “I couldn’t stand United when I was 21 or 22 because they used to win everything. A United fan came up to me once and said ‘I bet you’d love to come to United’. I said ‘I’ll never go there’.”

At least he wasn’t alone…

    Yes Ab is correct, he would not have change his priciples if they were paying £10 for a match apearance with a £2 win bonus!
