ITV viewers miss Dan Gosling’s goal in the Everton-Liverpool match after advert cock-up

Broadcaster shows 118 minutes of goalless football and cuts away before late winner!

ITV were left red-faced last night after a technical hitch meant viewers missed Dan Gosling’s winning goal for Everton against Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round replay. A technical hitch meant that while super-sub Gosling was finding the net, the channel’s viewers were instead being entertained by a Tic-Tac advertisement!

The footage was restored just in time for viewers to watch Everton’s players celebrating the goal. ITV presenter Steve Rider apologised three times for the blunder. He said: He said: “I’m afraid it came at a pretty bad time. If you missed the goal our apologies.”
