Pele has used a court case involving his cocaine-addict son, Edinho, to voice allegations that modern day Brazilian stars Ronaldo and Robinho are both drug users. In a statement read to the court, he said: “It is unfair to talk about drugs in football because of just one or two cases, like Ronaldo and Robinho, who have that problem.”

The Brazilian legend claimed to have seen the players taking cocaine with businessmen from the tourism industry during a private event in Sao Paulo. He singled out Diego Maradona for criticism, before he added: “Kaka is an example of a great role model, and beside him there are others like Platini, Beckenbauer and many others. There are a lot of good people and it is unfair to focus on an isolated case.”

This would help to explain Robinho’s performance against Chelsea last week, and the photo of Ronaldo we brought you a few days ago!
