USA fire off badly worded pre-match text messages to Spain

European champions think they are supposed to be scared…
Spain laughed off a pre-Confederations Cup semi-final warning SMS by attributing it to poor language skills. USA forward Jozy Altidore sent a text to Villarreal team-mate Joan ‘Rivers’ Capdevila urging the hot favourites to watch their backs. Naturally, the Spaniards assumed something had been lost in translation.
Capdevila said: “Yesterday he sent me a message and told me that we had to be careful. But his Spanish is not so great, so I think he made a mistake.”
I don’t think so, Joan. Jozy’s sex education SMSs are well known. Yesterday he sent OTP a message the other day saying abstinence makes the heart grow fonder. So now you know.

Hmm….seems like they might have paid the price for ignoring that warning, eh?
It DID come from Altidore..
