Sir Alex Ferguson’s phone calls allegedly hacked by News of the World

As if managers weren’t stressed enough, they now have phone tapping to deal with!
Sir Alex Ferguson and Alan Shearer are among the alleged victims of the News of the World phone tapping scandal. The Manchester United boss and the in-limbo possible future/former Newcastle manager are both said to have left messages on the hacked phone of PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor.
According to the Guardian, messages intercepted from Taylor’s mobile referred to the Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger; the medical bills of former England player Paul Gascoigne; the former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp; and a prominent Premier League player who had a cocaine problem.
In fairness, hacking a phonecall and picking up an answerphone message from Alan Shearer is probably what a sensational tabloid hack might deem the short straw!
