Bookies slash odds on ‘Arry to quit
Harry Redknapp’s odds of being the next Premier League manager to leave his post have been slashed by bookmakers after punters heavily backed the Spurs boss to jump or be pushed. The odds have been cut from 50/1 last night to 2/1 this lunchtime, causing Redknapp to overtake Portsmouth’s Paul Hart and join dead-man-walking Phil Brown as favourite.
The rumour - and it is only a rumour at this stage - is that the fallout of the latest corruption inquiry will make Redknapp’s position at White Hart Lane untenable.
This could, of course, just be another PR stunt by Paddy Power, like the Rafa Benitez rumour in August.
Update: Redknapp has now spoken out to deny the rumours. Click here to read more.
