Video: Barnsley fan scores against Manchester United

Taking weakened Carling Cup sides to a new level

Barnsley failed to score during their Carling Cup defeat to Manchester United, but the net did ripple in injury time when a fan took it upon himself to bag a goal for the Tykes.

Presumably inspired by this Russian fan, a Barnsley supporter ran onto the pitch to interrupt a Ben Foster goal-kick. Immediately appreciating why football players wear studs, the trainer-clad pitch invader loses his footing allowing Foster to close him down and get a foot on the ball.

The pitch invader manages to bundle the ball to an accomplice who, despite appearing to be in an offside position, makes no mistake with the finish.
