Video: Gary Neville’s red card against Barnsley

Naughty Nev’s behaving badly again
Reprimanded for his celebrations in the Manchester derby, involved in row with police following last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool, and now sent-off during the Carling Cup tie with Barnsley: Gary Neville’s behaviour doesn’t get better with age.
The jury’s still out for us. It was definitely nasty, but it was his momentum that caused the collision after the ball had been won. Did he need to leave his studs up quite so much? Hmm…

i fucking hate gary neville.
The lad he fouled, Adam Hammill, is a Kopite who was in our youth system up until a few months ago. Neville fucking meant to hurt him. The prick.

Whenever there is a dodgy penalty decision people always say “it was ball first, it cant be a foul” - as if touching the ball is a ‘get out of jail’ card for whatever happens next. Does this finally end that debate?
Ha - I’m a psychic… Oct31 - Carragher barely touches the ball tackling Zamora from behind and pulls him down. If you tackle from behind it doesnt matter if you *touch* the ball, you need to *clear* the ball. There’s no question that Zamora would have had a goal scoring chance if he hadnt been tripped in the challenge. Of course the debate continues since Benitez/Carragher are already bleating about their appeal.
