Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong threatend to injury team-mates Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski in training after Ghana were drawn in the same World Cup group as Germany.
In a Twitter post that was hastily deleted, the Ghana international suggested he would do his compatriots a favour on the Arsenal training ground.
He wrote: “Don’t worry Ghana I got ur back ozil Podolski nd per won’t b going to the World Cup Due to my studs flying in training.”
Normally failing to qualify from your group at a major tournament would guarantee the sack for any England manager.
