Former AC Milan right-back Cafu has become the latest Brazilian star to agree to join lowly English outfit Garforth Town. The 38-year-old deal will sign for the club in the January transfer window, but is expected to link up with his new team in April to feature in the final few games of the season.
Garforth owner Simon Clifford has already attracted the likes of Socrates and Careca to play for his club through connections made via his Brazilian Soccer Schools coaching network. Clifford said: “It’s an absolute honour to have someone like him lining up in our shirt. I think he’ll also add something on the field.”
You would like to think having a Brazilian World Cup winner in the side would add something to most Unibond Northern League sides!
