Arsenal fans get derby tickets on the cheap after Tottenham cock-up

Spurs do themselves out of tens of thousands of pounds

The words ‘Tottenham Hotspur’ and ‘blunder’ are becoming synonymous this season, but this mistake is spectacular even by Spurs’ high standards. The club told Arsenal that away tickets for next week’s north London derby should be sold at £37.

Gooners gleefully snapped up their 3,500 ticket allocation only for Spurs to remember that the tickets were actually supposed to go on sale priced £47. Both clubs are now making attempts to recoup the difference with limited success.

The Mirror quotes one Arsenal who said: “Arsenal have written to us to ask for another tenner but we’ve got our tickets and there is nothing they can do. They’re politely requesting we send more cash. We are politely declining. If they think we are going to hand over a tenner to that lot down the road they have got another think coming.”
