Slap-up dinner for cheesed off away fans

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill has arranged to buy dinner for the 295 fans who spent thousands of pounds travelling to watch a weakened side crash out of the Uefa Cup to CSKA Moscow. Villa owner Randy Lerner has agreed to pick up the £15,000 tab for the conciliatory gesture.

Having criticised O’Neill for his decision to field a weakened team, OTP thought it was only fair to let you know he had attempted to make it up to the supporters who did travel to Moscow.
