Arsene Wenger does his best to shake off the ‘voyeur’ tag

Arsenal manager has been watching the neighbours again
arsene-wenger

Sometimes Arsene Wenger boggles Off The Post’s mind a little bit. He is a clever man, this much we know. Surely he must know that comments he makes about Cristiano Ronaldo will be big news.

Which is why he said: “Every bad tackle that is unpunished is not right but with Manchester United I am a bit cautious because sometimes I feel they get too much protection. Ronaldo is a specific example of that. Sometimes his arrogance is provocative — and his class as well.”

Arsenal are not playing United again until May, and they are not even competing against each other for the Premier League title this season, so I cannot really see why Wenger has felt the need to open his mouth (even if there is some truth in what he says!). We know what Jose Mourinho would have had to say about such outbursts.

And as if his comments are Ronaldo were not voyeuristic enough, Wenger is also playing his FA Cup ties the round before everyone else just so he can see what they do first!

What a rubbish article, Arsenal are playing the FA cup round behind, not first.

“(even if there is some truth in what he says!)”

there you go, you criticise him for what he says and admit he’s telling the truth. how can you fail to see how stupid that is from you? awful journalism.

“the round before everyone else just so he can see what they do first”

Yep, I believe that’s what I said. The implication being that he would know what everyone else had done in the sixth round first. What’s your point?

  • Asmo

Could it be that he was asked about it?

    Great article, profound, insightful.

Because I can call Cristiano Ronaldo arrogant and provacative all day long and:
    a) It’s not going to fire him up to get one over on me
    b) It’s not going to be splashed all over newspapers bringing negative publicity for me
    c) It’s not going to further my reputation of being happy to comment on the flaws of other manager’s players while being blinkered to any problems at my own club.

In case you hadn’t noticed it is a light-hearted piece. I don’t think anyone genuinely considers Wenger a voyeur because his FA Cup tie got postponed. Arsenal fans seem to be lacking in a sense of humour – fifth-place blues?

You know what the whole ‘voyeur’ thing insinuates and frankley that sort of thing just isn’t funny. There is a big difference between having a sense of humour and laughing about things like that or, for instance, as some sets of fans do, the Hillsborough tragedy or the Munich aircrash. That’s one of the reasons I’m proud to be a gooner, we’ve got more class than to spout crap like that

    Pointless article

  • Jim Morrison

This has to be the dumbest article ever written. Talk about a voyeur

wow way to cut and paste what you wanted. here is the whole quote, “Sometimes his arrogance is provocative – and his class as well. But when a player is not protected it’s not right. When there is a bad tackle you have to be punished and get sent off the pitch.”

moreover SAF agrees with him. that link you can find yourself. try do do some research next time.

    rubbish article…

  • Lettraggad

You obviously wanted more hits .. the post was utter rubbish .. youve cut and pasted bits and parts of what he said. He was actually defending Ronaldo .. and pointing out that sometimes he DOESNT get the protection he deserves he answes the questions he is asked.. I will forever hate mourinhos classless ass for his vile comments about Arsene and as for you dear muppet your blog (or whatever its suppposed to be) is an embarresment.

WTF?? Why don’t people get that this is not meant to be hard-hitting analytical news?? Honeslty, if you all don’t like the articles or the site or light hearted satirical journalism then don’t read it. But for god’s sake, do f**k off and stop clogging up the comments section with pointless whining.
