Emmanuel Adebayor pitches for a job on Top Gear

The new Jeremy Clarkson?

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor could have a new career lined up when he hangs up his boots. Well, two actually – one as a Top Gear presenter and one as a Kanu lookalike. The Togo international seems to love talking to the camera, but instead of discussing chassis, break horse power or speed cameras Manu just loves to talk about how much he looks like Nwankwo Kanu.

Fantastic lilt to his voice, and I love the way he describes Kanu as an “icon” and how he wishes he could have a career like him before grudgingly acknowledging that he believes he has the ability to have a better career than his hero!

Thats why he chose no 25 when he joined.

Adebayor’ll have to go some way to be better than Kanu: he’s already well behind!

By this age, Kanu had already won Gold at the Olympics, the Nigerian Premier League, the Dutch league thrice, the UEFA Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and Champions League.

Adebayor’s bagged the Amsterdam Tournament and Emirates Cup…two pre-season torunaments.

Still, plenty of time to go, Emmanuel – plus Kanu’s kept playing until he’s in his mid 50s…

Damn, how fast is he going there? He doesn’t even slow down once in the whole video.

Oh, wow, Adebayor has his own YouTube channel. I’ll need to subscribe to this.

  • Danno

Oh wow, I’ve just been watching his videos, and I’m addicted! His enunciation and irreverent comments are, strangely, adorable…

“Yeah! It’s again me, and I’m sorry, maybe I’m disturbing you, but I don’t think so [cheeky wink]”

What a lad! I wish every footballer had a youtube channel.
