Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has produced the quote of the day by declaring that he is not injury prone. The 29-year-old, who has just returned to the Magpies side (again) after being out since January said: “It is frustrating. However, and people will probably laugh, but I know I’m not injury-prone.”
We would beg to differ on the grounds that Owen is just about the only football player in the world whose career you can chart through YouTube videos of their rehabilitation. Like the one above, for instance, taken in Portugal just a few weeks ago as Owen recovered from his most recent injury. We are not sure whether the physio made him down five vodkas and spin around ten times before he started this.
