Fair play or stupidity?
If you thought all footballers were diving scumbags, think again. This action comes from the Romanian league and a match between Rapid Bucharest and Otelul Galati. The referee awarded Rapid a 63rd minute penalty after deciding Costin Lazar had been tripped in the area. It was, in fact, an outstanding tackle and Lazar knew this.
As soon as the decision was made, he was shaking his head. The referee decides that if the attacker is complaining about the decision then he probably got it wrong. He restarts the game with a drop-ball in the area, which Lazar puts out for a goal-kick.
Rapid were winning 2-0 at the time, but it was still a generous piece of fair play.
