Morecambe serve up Premier League pies

Shrimps make good grub

If the Premier League title was decided on the quality of the pies on offer at half time then Morecambe would be top of the table, according to one devoted fan who has travelled around grounds sampling the food on offer.

Dedicated football fan and pie lover Tom Dickinson has spent a whopping £3,000 touring 91 of the 92 football league clubs, and found the League Two outfit’s pies to be the tastiest. He is yet to visit the Reebok Stadium, but says Bolton’s pies will have to go some way to beat the Shrimps’.

He said: “I do like pies but I’m not obsessed. Some weeks I’ve had to go to six or seven games to get round all 92 stadiums and by the Wednesday I’m sick of the sight of them so I’m going to take a break from pies for a while.”

Tom had praise for Darlington’s pies too, but was disappointed to find his half-time snack at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium was cold in the middle.

I challenge anyone to do the same with prawn sandwiches, because you can cross Ipswich off your list now Keano’s in charge now. What are your half-time pie tips? I have heard the meat and potato at Stamford Bridge is extremely overpriced.

Apparently the Cottage pies (think about it) served at Fulham are the same as the ones that they sell in Harrods!
