The Dodo is not extinct, Manchester United are about to sign him

‘The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated’

Manchester United are apparently swooping to sign Dodo (just as well he is a flightless bird then). The 17-year-old – whose full name is Jose Rodolfo Pires Ribeiro Dodo – currently plays for Corinithians in Brazil.

The youngster has starred for Brazil in the South American Under-17 championships, helping them to two clean sheets in their opening two matches. Fergie’s Brazilian contacts – hopefully the ones who suggested the Da Silvas rather than the ones who recommended Kleberson – have urged United to move quickly for Dodo (well, once he’s gone there is no more).

So by my reckoning, Brazil could potentially have a Dodo in defence and the Duck up front at the 2014 World Cup.
