1. A monobrowed right-footer is capable of subduing the best right winger/player in the world.

2. After Newcastle versus Portsmouth and now this, I think I have forgotten what a goal looks like. Let’s hope Manchester United and/or Arsenal are in clinical mood tomorrow.

3. Guus Hiddink’s mystery daydream goalscoring hero must have been Juliano Belletti. That is the only reason I can think of for his appearance in place of Frank Lampard.

4. Chelsea would definitely have taken that before kick-off. They have a very long way to go, and Barca are more than capable of scoring at Stamford Bridge, but they have given themselves a very clear target: win the second leg.

5. That second half string of injuries got a bit tiresome. Although I actually thought Thierry Henry was in serious trouble for a while what with the physio checking his pulse and all! Turned out he got off lightly compared to Rafa Marquez.

Carlos Puyol is suspended for the away leg and Marquez might not make it before then. Looks dangerous for Barca.

  • Moussa KZ.

I’m confident in everything Guus Hiddink does!

Chelsea parked the bus in front of goal and got lucky to come away with a draw. Outplayed and outclassed. The result was unfortunate for Barca, but I’m sure they’ll make up for it at Stamford.

Alves was acting like a little pussy.

It was interesting to see premier league pragmatism and testosterone contrasted against the artistry and high-ideals of Spanish football. That said Toure battled like a one man army.

The ref was a bit fussy but we saw one of the decisions of the season when he booked Toure for making the “yellow card” gesture. In conclusion it was inconclusive.

I wouldn’t go as far to say Bosingwa stopped Messi. I’d say the uber defensive 10 ten behind the ball tactic from Chelski stopped Messi and Henry and Eto’o and Xavi etc etc

Also i totally agree with OmegaSupreme about the ref booking Toure for the yellow card gesture. Spot on and it’s something the FA should be looking at seriously in England.

Barcelona fail against their FIRST realistic opponent this season.

    6) If Hiddink had tried to watch THAT game in his head, he would have fallen asleep every time
