Recovering alcoholic recommends drink to deal with stress

Ex-Spurs star Paul Gascoigne has some words of wisdom for the club’s current stars. The recovering alcoholic says footballers SHOULD be allowed to get drunk occasionally, to help them cope with the pressures of the game.

Earlier this week we told you about Harry Redknapp’s has decision to re-ban his players from drinking alcohol in the wake of Ledley King’s drunken antics.

But Gazza has hit out at the ban. He said: “As long as he performs on a Saturday… so what let him have a few drinks.”

Gascoigne has been heavily linked with a return to management in recent months. Chairman up and down the country will be scribbling him off their shortlists as we speak at the thought of Gazza introducing his own special brand of stress relief to their squads!
