Cheer up, Chelsea fans. At least you have a living, breathing (despite the threats) human being to vent your hatred towards. Supporters have Hamburg have been forced to lay the blame for their European exit with a humble ball of paper.

Defender Michael Gravgaard was lining up a simple backpass to his keeper when the ball kicked up off a ball of paper on the pitch, causing him to slice the ball behind for a corner.

From the resulting corner Werder Bremen’s Frank Baumann scored the diving header which would ultimately put his side through on away goals!

I don’t know who threw that paper onto the pitch, but depending on who they support they are probably feeling either very stupid or very proud this morning.

    Hang your head in shame!

The Bremen fans would have been in the other corner of that end, so I really hope that HSV fan is suffering knowing that his team just went from a shot at 3 pieces of silverware, to a slim chance at one, within 2 weeks!

Not only that but HSV is getting knocked out at the hands of Bremen for each chance of silverware. It looks like, without this exception, that Bremen has HSV’s number. Poor Martin! It looked like he was going to get a treble this season.
