Video: Mexican footballer suspended for pretending to spread swine flu
When spitting at your opponent becomes a diplomatic incident
Chivas defender Hector Reynoso has been suspended from the Copa Libertadores tournament after telling an opponent he had swine flu and attempting to ‘infect’ him with the virus. The Mexican is reported to have admitted to being infected with the piggy sniffles before he coughed and fired a fine volley of snot in the face of Sebastian Penco, of Chilean opponents Everton (not that Everton).
Reynoso was allegedly responding to some jibes about Mexico being the source of the scaremongers’ current disease of choice, but has apologised for his actions.
