That’s a grand total of one person wanting him to stay then
Joey Barton has provided Newcastle fans with the news they have been waiting for: he would be willing to let them continue to pay him £60,000 a week while he works his way through a series of suspensions, injuries, jail sentences and spells in rehab.
Barton told The Chronicle: “I don’t know what is going to happen with the club or with the manager situation. I’m just looking forward to going back and my intention is to stay at the club and help Newcastle back into the Premier League.
“If Alan Shearer takes the job and if he doesn’t want me then my hands are tied. All I can do is try and get as fit as possible, but I have got to prepare for all eventualities.”
OTP suspects Alan Shearer will get the job, won’t want Barton, and the midfielder’s hands will be tied. We also suspect that he won’t find many other clubs willing to pay him £240,000 a month.
