Giving a new meaning to the phrase no pain, no gain

Odd Grenland booked their place in the semi-finals of the Norwegian Cup after beating SK Brann 5-1 at home over the weekend, but it was their second goal which has got their opponents hot under the collar.

Hungarian striker Peter Kovacs grabbed the goal in controversial circumstances. He collected the ball after stricken Brann keeper Håkon Opdal injured his knee attempting to make a clearance. Rounding the keeper and slotting home was not a difficult task, but Kovacs immediately felt the wrath of Opdal’s team-mates.

Brann were incensed that Kovacs played on despite the keeper’s injury. The striker points out that he did nothing wrong and played to the laws of the game.

OTP is with Kovacs on this one. It was a matter for his own conscience and he felt it was right to play on. Opdal is still fit enough to make a lunge at Kovacs as he goes past him!

Not very sportsman like but still he did play to the laws of the game/the referee’s whistle, nothing wrong with that. Almost the same situation as the Chelski’s second goal at the weekend.

Well I don’t know where to my Norweigan Cup match reports, but unless that goalie got substituted off, then nothing wrong with that goal. He tried to play the ball after he fell…so maybe feigning injury was the best way for him to save face!

looks like the keeper tried to do something clever with the ball and failed.

Opdal is out for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury so I guess it wasn’t faked.

    fair fucks to him.

the majority would do the same thing. football is a dog eat dog world now and that goal helped to earn the strikers wages.

anyway the keeper tried to play the ball when he was on the ground.
