Video: Referee misses Freddie Sears goal for Crystal Palace against Bristol City

I’m sorry, the ball didn’t hit the back of the net hard enough

One of the major talking points of the weekend came in the Championship clash between Bristol City and Crystal Palace. Young striker Freddie Sears, on loan at Palace from West Ham, scored a perfectly legitimate goal which hit the stanchion and bounced out of the back of the net.

Referee Rob Shoebridge and his assistant were the only people in the ground who failed to notice that a goal had been scored. Thankfully for Shoebridge he made his ridiculous error against a team managed by a shy and retiring coach… the shrinking violet that is Neil Warnock.

The Palace boss stopped just short of demanding Shoebridge’s head on a spike.

Rubbish to say he stopped JUST SHORT of demanding the refs head on a spike. Did you actually listen to what he said?

Yeah, that he should be banned for a year.

    poor refereeing there.

Simon Jordan should button it! Some of his jibes may be seen as going a bit too far and may encourage some ill feeling between players and fans for the return game at Selhurst Park. Why doesn’t he grow up!

I heard about it, but just saw it on You tube. As an Australian supporter of PALACE, even from this far away I could see that it was a goal!
