One Ashley out, one Ashley in
Cheryl Cole has said she would consider a takeover bid for Newcastle United – if she had enough money. The Girls Aloud star’s £10 million fortune is unlikely to meet owner Mike Ashley’s valuation of the Magpies. And even allowing for hubby Ashley chipping in some of his £3.5 million-a-year salary, the Coles are unlikely to become the Toon’s new owners.
Real Radio breakfast host Craig Beck asked her: “You must have got a bit of cash. You don’t fancy buying Newcastle and putting Ashley at left back?”
She replied: “If I had that kind of cash, I would.”
No word yet on whether Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh would be on the fantasy board of directors.
