Argentina boss hands over jewellery to Italian cops

Diego Maradona has had his earrings seized by Italian police determined to make him pay a €37m tax bill once piece of bling at a time. The Argentinian legend has the unpaid taxes hanging over him from his time at Napoli between 1984 and 1991.

The jewellery, worth £3,600, was taken at a health clinic where the under-fire coach had booked in for treatment for stress and weight problems.

On a previous visit to Italy three years ago, police took two Rolex watches from Maradona. Police said they were acting on a judicial order authorising the seizure of anything of value “within plain sight”.

Seize his hand next. It is of considerable value to the english, and is easily within plain sight.

How did he rack up that much in unpaid taxes? Surely he wasn’t earning a mint to rack up a bill like that? That’s amazing!!

I’m astonished that a stand-up guy like Diego could possibly owe back taxes…obviously a fabrication by haters who can’t get over ’86.
