Mareval-ous strike

French outfit Nantes took a very early lead in their clash with Nimes at the weekend. Remi Mareval struck after just nine seconds as an awkward bounce at the end of his punt caught both the goalkeeper and the cameraman napping.

When the goal is scored, the television coverage hasn’t even bothered to zoom in from its pre-match position.

See a joyous fan’s view of the incident (which captures more than the professional cameramen) after the jump.

Update:
Due to fears of overexposure of the world-leading French league, the original video was removed by the internet police. So only the fan’s view remains (and even that is a different video.

Fan video has also been removed. A similar thing happened to the Bundesliga video of Farfan’s goal for Schalke this weekend. Seems the internet police are treating fan footage just like TV footage uploaded to YouTube. Harsh.
