Creative use of a line-painter

Every Sunday league football team has had the occasional unpleasant surprise to contend with before kick off – it’s something that you come to expect. Usually it’s because some unforgiving dog owner forgot to bring out a poo bag, or because the remains of a passionate fumble on the penalty spot between two drunken young lovers have been left behind.

But part-timers Worle FC, from Weston Super-Mare, had a real treat when they turned up to find what can only be described as a giant penis on their pitch. No, not a real one but the art of prankster with a line painter who had drawn the giant lovelength on the field.

Assistant manager Mark Chesney (ably assisted by a journalist/pun machine from The Sun) saw the funny side.

He said: “We reckon it was a jealous player from a rival club and we won’t rest until we find out who it was. To be shafted like this is a bitter pill to swallow – it’s a balls up which may leave our next fixture in doubt.”
