The video that proves the Republic of Ireland can have no complaints, according to Roy Keane

Should Georgia get a replay?

Roy Keane reckons the Republic of Ireland could not have expected their game against France to be replayed on the grounds of Thierry Henry’s handball. The Ipswich manager launched a scathing attack against the Football Association of Ireland for their protests following the match, and accused them of hypocrisy on the basis of the video above.

He said: “Ireland had their chances in the two games, and they never took them. But it’s the usual FAI reaction – ‘We’ve been robbed, the honesty of the game.’ There was one match against Georgia where Ireland got a penalty and it was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen which changed the whole course of the game. I don’t remember the FAI after the game saying we should give them a replay.”

Keane went on to say that the real blame should be put on the Irish defence for not clearing the ball.

    1. There shouldn’t be a replay of the France Ireland game anyway, it’s a stupid idea, we’ll just have to suck it up, that chip on our shoulder will heal over time.
    2. Even if Georgia had won, they would still have come last and the results would have been expunged for deciding who got to the playoffs Ireland would still have drawn France, so our wannabe Buddhist philosopher might as well be talking about an international friendly
3.As with pretty much everything else, please stop talking Roy, it was never your strong point.

“2. Even if Georgia had won, they would still have come last and the results would have been expunged for deciding who got to the playoffs Ireland would still have drawn France, so our wannabe Buddhist philosopher might as well be talking about an international friendly”
That has to be the daftest reasoning I’ve ever read in my life, so you would deny Georgia justice on the basis that they weren’t going to get far in the group stages?
By following your very daft argument we could easily say that Ireland will never win the world cup so why bother?
New idiot born every second so true

Hate to agree with Mr. Keane but he has a point.
A replay is impossible, so the FAI’s actions just seem desperate.
I guess some sort or retrospective ban on Henry, one or two games at the World Cup
could offer some small consolation to the Irish.
Though the referees should be the ones taking most of the flak.
I agree with Trap – let’s just bite the bullet and get video refereeing, for
    big international games at least.

Lakeside, no I’m saying the penalty is irrelevant, Ireland shouldn’t get a replay even if absolutely no decisions went in their favour over the last 20 years.
It’s called a straw man, but you’d already know that since you’re so much more intelligent than me, even though you can’t read.
But hey if you want “JUSTICE FOR GEORGIA” please fell free to lobby FIFA to adjust the table to register a Georgia win, the table would finish the same anyway.
