PE teacher breaks record for longest throw-in
Can we have our ball back, sir?
A PE teacher from Yorkshire has set a new world record for the longest football throw-in. Danny Brooks, aged 28, launched the ball 49.78m with his gymnastic flip-throw.
Explaining how he discovered his talent, Danny said: “A friend asked me ifdI coulf show him how to do a headstand. I thought that I’d hurt my head if I did my headstand, so if I do my headstand with a little bit of a cushion and I had the ball there.
“So I did it and at first it actually accidentally slipped out of my hands as I did it. That actually then got thinking that if I can work on this I could deliberately see how far I could get it.”
