Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has reportedly suffered a broken jaw in a training ground bust-up with Andy Carroll. The 24-year-old is now likely to miss the Magpies’ run-in as they aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Rumours suggest that the pair might have been rowing over their respective pay deals. Carroll, in superb form with eight goals in nine games, takes home around £10,000 a week, while Taylor is paid around three-times that.
Carroll also received hospital treatment for a hand injury sustained in the alleged bust-up. The 21-year-old exchanged punches with then team-mate Charles N’zogbia last season. He also has a court date impending over an alleged nightclub assault.
Too much time with Joey Barton?
