Why would I make the save when there’s gardening to be done?
Cardiff keeper Peter Enckelman is the master of goalkeeping howlers. The Finnish keeper’s career has been dogged by the memory of the outrageous goal he conceded in the Birmingham derby from an Olof Mellberg throw-in. So things like this incident against Preston don’t really enhance his reputation.
In fact, this is two gaffes rolled into one. Firstly, his clearance is shocking. Then, instead of getting back in goal or closing down the Preston player he has just kicked the ball straight to, he bends over to fill in the divet he just created with his miskick!
Chris Brown’s finish from a tricky angle is made considerably easier by the lack of a keeper.
