Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has taken a sarcastic dig at Champions League qualification rivals Manchester City over their decision to appeal to the Premier League for permission to sign goalkeeper Marton Fulop following an injury to Shay Given.
The Spurs boss was asked about the fitness of Heurelho Gomes after his keeper received treatment in injury time of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Bolton.
Redknapp joked: “We’re going to get on to the League and see if we can get another two goalkeepers in. We’ve got four already but we thought we might get another couple.”
He added that he was happy to trust reserve keeper Ben Alnwick if Gomes was unfit to face City tomorrow evening.
