World Cup Kitman: Ghana home

Posted by - June 1, 2010 - Kitman, World Cup

This summer’s hottest footy fashions

Team: Ghana

Maker: Puma

Prem personalisation: Kevin-Prince Boateng, Richard Kingson, John Mensah, John Paintsil.

Verdict:Ghana’s kit is simple but effective. Puma’s habit of hiding a symbol of the team’s nickname on the shoulder works better for the Black Stars than some other teams. The otherwise minimalistic design is set off by some funky lettering on the back.

i have always thought that puma’s design for African teams are cheap looking and lack innovative ideas. referring to the ghana home kit, nothing is visibly changed from the kit 4 years ago.the away kit in red with yellow stripes is so embarrassing one would have thought it was second hand clothes picked from an African local market. umbro (england kit sponsors) and adidas on the other hand, have always designed richly with a host of bold beautiful ideas.
i think Ghana should consider adidas after this world cup. puma have clearly run out of ideas.

I agree with Fred on this. The kit is the same for all the African teams. The only difference being the colours. Puma are lazy and do not put any effort in the design. I think african teams should drop puma and go for adidas, umbro or another sponsor who would respectfully put some thought into the design. Nigeria is one country whose kit is always appealing. they are with adidas.
