No more players needed at Barcelona

Says Busquets. Catalans weep.

Sergio Busquets has publicly said that he doesn’t want Barcelona to add anyone to their squad. Ridiculously, he thinks that the squad is fine as is and that room should be made for some of the youth team players to emerge.

He said: “The fact that Toure has left does not mean anything because there are other team-mates who can play in his position, like (Seydou) Keita, or even Xavi or (Andres) Iniesta.

“There are a lot of players coming up from the youth team like Romeu and Jonathan dos Santos, and I believe we have the position well covered.”

Rough translation: Barca’s only senior holding player doesn’t think they need to sign another defensive midfielder.

One can only imagine that Sandro Rosell is livid due to this shocking and provocative statement. Busquets is likely to start the season on the bench and remain there until he fully realises the damage he has done with his big mouth.

Expect a quote from him soon urging several world-class players to stop ignoring the little angel on their shoulder and join the Catalans.

Very clever, Aron. You’ve managed to make Spanish footie sound remotely interesting.
