Nigeria suspended from all football by FIFA

FIFA have taken the step of suspending Nigeria from all football, citing government interference as the reason.

Actions by the Nigerian Football Federation include starting the new season without relegation from the previous season, and court orders disallowing from the executive committee from carrying out their duties.

The FIFA ruling means that the Super Eagles will be unable to take part in the start of the African Nations Cup qualifying, any friendly matches, and international competitions at club level.

Sort of puts the inability to get past quarter finals into perspective, doesn’t it?
