Rio Ferdinand confuses Jack Wilshere and Adam Johnson with toddlers (or possibly dwarves)
Those pesky kids
Rio Ferdinand has returned to the England squad to reclaim his captaincy and paint himself as the grumpy elder statesman of the national team set-up. Old man Rio is fed-up of those silly boys Jack Wilshere and Adam Johnson getting in his way and treading on his toes. He said:
It’s nice to be able to go out there and train and you’re training alongside the likes of Jack Wilshere and Adam Johnson: two young players who are hungry and are really talented boys that are trying to get in the team.
It makes you feel a little bit old when you’ve got lads 18, 19, 20 years old running around your feet.
Bloody kids! Wrecking Rio’s slippers!
One for the psychologists: does Rio see Wilshere and Johnson as tiny people or himself as a giant?
