A report by the BBC claims that a new generation of football hooligans is threatening to ruin the sport’s reputation. Police figures, seen by the Beeb, show that there were 103 incidents of hooliganism involving young people last season, up from 38 in 2007.
Now is the time to nip the problem in the bud. We don’t need procrastination from various bodies. We need joined-up thinking and direct action from the FA, football clubs, police, the government and other interested organisations.
If everyone pulls together, and with the public onside, we can make sure, once and for all, that Danny Dyer is not allowed to make any more television programmes.
Wouldn’t that be a better world for kids to grow up in?
