Frank Lampard: ‘If you call Wayne Rooney thick, then you’re thick’

Posted by - November 9, 2010 - Chelsea, England, Manchester United

I know you are, I said you are, but what am I?

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has sprung to the defence of England colleague Wayne Rooney, saying people who call him thick are actually thick themselves.

Lampard said people make “lazy” assumptions on Rooney based on his background and the fact that he is a footballer.

He said:

“I think the people who are calling him thick have got a certain element of thickness about them, because they haven’t even invested the time to speak to him. He doesn’t speak to the press that much for them to make that judgement of him.”

Is that an open invitation, Frank?

So you are thick if you think Rooney’s thick because you haven’t invested the time to talk to him, but you can’t talk to him because he doesn’t talk to the press that much.

Glad we got that cleared up.

I think its because of his face that people think Rooney is thick, hey I am also ugly so what as long as I have the money

I think Frank is thick for assuming I am thick without investing the time to find out if it is true or not. I suppose that now means that he gets to call me thick again for assuming he is thick for assuming I am thick for assuming Rooney is thick.
