You cannot define me
Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher flew in the face of Premier League rules by playing without so much as a number on his shirt during the second-half against Aston Villa.
Fletcher, presumably already on his second shirt of the afternoon, had to remove his jersey due to bloodstains on it. With no ‘FLETCHER’ emblazoned replacement gear available, he had to go blank for the remainder of the game.
It all goes to show that when it comes to Premier League rules, blood is thicker than, erm, squad numbers.
