Bald gent bears the brunt of Barca’s snack-time
Pipas (sunflower seeds to you or me – if we even knew what they looked like) are as much a part of the Spanish footballing experience as ridiculous dives and over-exuberant hand gestures. A large proportion of fans sit picking at the seeds for the full 90 minutes, presumably to the annoyance of cleaners who have to pick up the mountain of shells afterwards.
And the cleaner responsible for the rows in front of Gerard Pique at last night’s Copa Del Rey match between Barcelona and Ceuta had a particularly tough job.
Towards the end of the match, Pique switched off from the action and instead concentrated on throwing his snack at the head of a bald man sitting below him.
The victim was understandably annoyed, and his mood was not improved by Pique and Carlos Puyol engaging in a little ‘it wasn’t me it was him, guv’ routine.
Pique eventually gave up on any attempt at subtlety and threw the whole bag at the bloke as he left his seat.
