Wolves might not be destined to win the league this season, but they do top at least one table. Manager Mick McCarthy is the Premier League’s biggest touchline pacer.
Research shows McCarthy clocks up 4.3 miles by wandering around his technical area while urging his side on. The 51-year-old covers 36.1 miles per season, which is more than twice the 15 miles averaged by top-flight managers.
Other active managers include Newcastle’s Chris Hughton who came second, covering 31.8 miles per season. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce came third with 27.6 miles.
Stoke’s Tony Pulis clocks up 21.2 miles across a season, while Blackpool’s Ian Holloway came fifth with 17 miles.
