Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been earmarked as a future England manager by the Football Association. The Reds stalwart could now be offered the chance to take a shortcut to the job by working his way up the national team ranks.
FA officials are reportedly so impressed with Carragher’s performance in attaining his coaching badges that they are prepared to offer him management of an England youth side when he hangs up his boots.
He would then be able to work up the age groups and eventually take control of the senior squad.
It seems the post-World Cup backlash about England players not being able to understand their manager when he speaks has been forgotten then!
