The traditional safety mark for Premier League relegation battlers has been lifted this season with things very tight at both ends of the table. Most pundits seem to think that 40 points will secure Premier League safety.
West Brom forward Peter Odemwingie believes his side can easily surpass that – just whisper it quietly.
You see, the Nigerian is quietly confident that the Baggies can avoid relegation without too many problems. It’s just the quietly bit he is having problems with.
But Odemwingie broke his silence to confide in the Match of the Day 2 cameras yesterday evening.
He said: “The minimum target is 40 points but inside of me, when I look at my team-mates and some very good games that we’ve played so far, I don’t comment on it but I believe we can do better than that.”
That’s off the record, folks, so keep it under your hats.
