Top five re-workings of the Carlos Tevez ‘Welcome to Manchester’ billboard

Posted by - December 14, 2010 - Manchester City, Manchester United

Remember the great Manchester Billboard War of 2009? The ceasefire was never particularly observed and it is have been well and truly broken in the wake of Carlos Tevez handing in his transfer request.

Here is a collection of some of the Photoshop re-workings of the infamous ‘Welcome to Manchester’ advert taken out when Tevez arrived at Eastlands.

1. Hate to say we told you so

With Citeh fans now finding themselves in the same boat United fans were once in, the Red Devils revel in the joys of hindsight.

2. F**k off out of Manchester

It’s a real thinker. Mull it over for a while.

3. Fergie’s cows in the field quote

Sir Alex Ferguson’s bovine ponderings on the Wayne Rooney prostitute scandal are given a new lease of life.

4. Adios to Manchester

Getting down with the lingo.

5. Farewell from Stockport

A play on the geographical dispute which brought the initial billboard into existence. Was he ever in Manchester anyway?

Mildly amusing, but not as inspired and original as the City poster.

Come on you rags, stop following in city’s footsteps and come up with something impressive and new of your own.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing who the Sheikh will splash the cash on to replace Tevez, and Gai Assulin who looks the real deal just signed on a free after his Barca contract ran down.

    Good times.

    “stop following in city’s footsteps”

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha….

    Massive.

Bertie Bitter – follower, not a leader.

React to that and prove me right.

lmao, have you seen the latest one from the rags, in it they freely admit we are the true club of Manchester aka City. Punk tools did not even realise and publicised it and now it is too late.

@Melon Man: You’re correct, city are the true leaders of… blue billboards.

    34 years and counting.
