Ronaldo offered $8m to come out of retirement for Ruud Gullit’s Terek Grozny
Newly-retired Brazilian star Originaldo has been offered $8 million to reverse his decision to hang up his boots and play for Chechen side Terek Grozny.
According to Russian daily Tvoi Den, talks between the club and Ronaldo are pencilled in for March 8 when members of Brazil’s 2002 World Cup-winning side are reportedly playing a bizarre exhibition match against a Chechen XI.
The Russian top-flight side, managed by Ruud Gullit since January, would offer the striker an 18-month deal.
Tvoi Den quoted a Russian football agent as saying:
“Ronaldo has recently announced the end of his football career, and this is what Terek management’s is using.
“Ronaldo has already been invited to come to Chechnya, but there has been no response from the Brazilian.”
We will be very surprised if Ronaldo signs and even more surprised if that exhibition match takes place!
