Real Madrid-humping Spanish sports rag AS has been forced to apologise after digitally doctoring a photo it published to make it appear that Barcelona’s Dani Alves was offside.

As the move progressed, Alves went on to set-up David Villa to score the opener in last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao. The goal was awarded despite a very close offside call. But AS discovered that call was made considerably easier once the nearest defender to Alves had been Photoshopped out of the image!

They printed the altered photograph in Monday’s edition of the paper before printing an apology yesterday.

Their half-hearted sorry said: “We apologise for the error in the computer graphics in the 1-0 incident.”

Yes, oops we accidentally managed to very carefully delete a player from the photo.
