It might sound like the script to a Nicholas Cage film ITV2 would love to show every other week, but it’s actually just the latest news from the wacky world of Brazilian football.
Brazil’s new golden boy and slayer of the mighty Scotland, Neymar, was given a red card for donning a mask of his own face during a goal celebration. The referee wanted him to take his face… off.
In keeping with the craziness of the whole situation, the Santos striker managed to put the mask on upside down after bagging a goal against Colo Colo in the Copa Libertadores. The Uruguayan ref was not impressed and couldn’t wait to show Neymar a second yellow card for his celebration.
Santos still managed to win the match 3-2 despite finishing the game with eight-man compared to their Chilean opponents’ nine men!
