Now that’s a quick goal

Don’t you try to tell us there is no skill in the fifth tier of Portuguese football. Just look at this strike from FC Oliveira do Hospital forward Carlos Almeida. Opponents Arganil didn’t know what had hit them and never recovered, as they went on to lose the match 3-0.

Almeida doesn’t go down in history as the fastest goal ever though. It’s not exactly one of football’s clearest cut records but the honour probably belongs to Nawaf Al Abed of Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

  • Mohamed Al Saadoon

The problem with Nawaf Al Abed’s goal was that it was disqualified after the match.

It was a match in the Saudi equivalent of the Carling Cup with the special rule of not including more than 5 players Over the age of 23 (you can tell a lot of the players look young). Late in the match, Hilal subbed in two overage players and after the match they were disqualified with a 3-0 score in favor of their opponents.

Don’t know if that invalidates his record tho
